About Jennifer Lopez
Jennifer Lopez, also known as JLo, (born 24 July 1969 in The Bronx, New York) is an American singer, actress and dancer. First appearing on the television show In Living Color as a "Fly Girl" in 1991, Jennifer make a name for herself in 1997, as the lead role in the movie Selena. Some of JLO's most memorable roles were from the movies Out of Sight, opposite George Clooney, and The Wedding Planner with Matthew McConaughey. In 1999 Jennifer Lopez stepped into a new spotlight as a singer releasing her first album On the 6. In 2010, Jennifer Lopez replaced Paula Abdul as the female judge on the TV show American Idol.
Jennifer Lopez launched a fashion line called JLO by Jennifer Lopez in 2001. She started a spin-off high-end clothing line, SweetFace, in 2003, and a junior's clothing line, JustSweet in September 2007. JLO was discontinued in the US in 2007, JustSweet was discontinued after a few seasons, and Sweetface was closed in June 2009 due to the recession. In 2011 JLO launched her clothing line Jennifer Lopez sold exclusively at Kohl's.
In 2002 Jennifer Lopez launched her first of several celebrity perfumes, Glow by JLO, starting a new trend from celebrity endorsement to celebrity created fragrances.
