About Maison Margiela
Belgian fashion designer Martin Margiela, known for his deconstructive and avant-garde designs, founded the French fashion house of Maison Margiela in 1988 headquartered in Paris. Margiela worked as a design assistant for Jean Paul Gaultier from 1985-1987, and was the creative director for Hermès from 1997-2003. The house of Maison Margiela went public in 2002. Martin left the company in 2009. John Galliano became the house creative director in 2014. The first Maison Margiela fragrance was launched in 2010 by L'Oreal.
