About Celine
Founded in Paris, France by Céline Vipiana and her husband Richard in 1945, the brand was originally a made-to-measure luxury children's shoe brand with the original Raymond Peynet red elephant logo. In 1960 they reinvented the brand as a women's ready-to-wear fashion house with a sportwear theme and began offering leather goods such as handbags and loafers. The intertwined "C" logo, inspired by the Arc-de-Triomphe, was introduced in 1973. They launched their first fragrance, Vent Fou, in 1964.
