FiFi Award - 2003 - Celebrity Fragrance Star of the Year: Jennifer Lopez
I wanted Glow to be fresh and clean, but still sexy and sensual - something that feels like you just came out of the shower and you are the sexiest person in the world." --Jennifer Lopez
GLOW by JLO is Jennifer Lopez's first fragrance and her signature scent.
The Scent of Magnetism. It's fresh-sexy-clean. It's GLOW by JLO. Fresh a grapefruit and orange flower. Sexy as jasmine and vanilla. Clean as white roses and just washed skin. The scent that requires you to get closer.
Fresh: orange blossom, pink grapefruit, neroli
Sexy: rose, sandalwood, soft amber
Clean: jasmine, vanilla, musk orris
A pure white bottle. Clean, curvaceous lines. A woman's body. Frosted glass reflecting the fragrance within...softly glowing, like the color of bare skin. The jewelry on the bottle is inspired by Jennifer's own style. The signature of a superstar, written in rhinestones. Eau de Toilette Spray: 1oz, 1.7oz, 3.4oz; Body Lotion 6.7oz, Shower Gel 6.7oz.
JLO captured in the heat of the moment by Michael Thompson. Capturing the Inner Glow. Classic beauty interpreted anew, evoking emotion, invoking memort. Bare skin awoken by cool beads of water. A fog of sensuality. Steam on the glass.

Beauty Reporter Lo and Behold
Jennifer Lopez has had a stellar year. There was her global tour, the starring role in Hustlers, that little runway moment in a very familiar green dress. And then she released a new fragrance - her 25th. So we thought we'd see how this new scent, Promise, compares to the Glow that started it all.
NAMESAKE - Lopez was hoping to capture the "scent of bare, glowing skin warmed by the heat of the body."
BOTTLE SERVICE - With the bottle's long, thin neck and full base, not to mention dangling charm akin to a belly chain, the nod to the curves of a body cannot be missed.
TAKING NOTES - Orange flower, jasmine, grapefruit, and vanilla.
WORD ON THE STREET - "I picture someone sexy in heels, low-rise jeans, and a bare midriff," artist Meryl Ranzer told Allure in 2002 when we did a sniff test at a Manhattan bar for our Smell This column.

Fragrance News - Dollars & Scents -- Don't judge a book by its cover -- or a perfume by its bottle. Fragrance experts single out the best scents under $60 (and explain why "smelling like cheap perfume" isn't the insult it used to be).
Britney Spears Midnight Fantasy, $37.50 -- Dark berries, powdery florals, and amber are the hallmarks of this sexy scent, which Chandler Burr, curator of the department of olfactory art at the Museum of Arts and Design in New York City, calls "absolutely extraordinary." Whatever your feelings about pop music, many of its stars are cranking out superior fragrances, such as Midnight Fantasy, J.Lo Glow (a zesty, clean floral), and Kylie Minogue Darling (sugared fruit). Much of the credit goes to the perfumers behind them, who also created the luxurious Fresh Cannabis Santal and Chloe Love, Chloe.

Jennifer Lopez GLOW by JLO Perfume
The Supermodel Starlet - Much to the dismay of models everywhere, the mid-'90s marked the Hollywood invasion of their sacred turf: Stars began landing sever-figure contracts with beauty companies and snagging high-profile magazine covers (MC's first celeb cover was a pre-drama Jen Aniston in '96). What started with just a handful of actress endorsements - Juliette Binoche for Lancome in 1996; Jennifer Love Hewitt for Neutrogena in 1998 - snowballed into a full-fledged celebrity coup. Then, J.Lo's 2002 fragrance hit, Glow, started a star-scent firestorm, green-lighting even the most unlikely celeb-as-perfumer deals (Power by 50 Cent, anyone?). On the plus side, the latest partnerships are also breaking traditional beauty boundaries, with CoverGirl signing funny girl Ellen DeGeneres in 2008 and L'Oreal snagging Bollywood beauty (and Slumdog Millionaire lead) Freida Pinto this year."
- Glow by J.Lo, $58
- Gwen Stefani Harajuku Lovers Snow Bunnies fragrance, $30 each
- Juliette Binoche for Lancome, 1996
- Jennifer Connelly, Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Liquid Lipstick in Top Tomato, $10.99
- Ellen DeGeneres for CoverGirl & Olay, 2008 Simply Ageless Foundation, $13.99
- Katie Holmes for Garnier, 2002
