Jason Wu Eau de Parfum - perfume for women

Jason Wu Eau de Parfum by Jason Wu - The first fragrance for women launched by designer Jason Wu was crafted around the fashion mogul's love for Jasmine Sambac from him home in Taiwan. The floral woody perfume includes notes of pink pepper, fig, and silky musk created by Firmenich master perfumer Frank Voelkl. The heavy glass bottle was designed by architect Andre Mellone with a nude blush juice and goldtone cap, housed in packaging designed by Fabien Baron. The fragrance was created in partnership with Parlux. Launched in August 2017 this perfume is available in an eau de parfum spray and matching body products from Saks Fifth Avenue. Jason Wu Eau de Parfum

"Jason Wu introduces his first fragrance that captures the refined glamour of the sophisticated Jason Wu woman. The freshly alluring scent shimmers during the day and evolves into a deep peppery note that is sensual and seductive." --jasonwustudio.com

The Fragrance
In collaboration with renowned master perfumer Frank Voelkl of Firmenich, Jason captures a sense of nostalgia with the strong presence of Jasmine Sambac. It brought Jason back to his childhood in Taiwan where he used to pick the flower from his neighbor's stone wall.

The fragrance is fresh, floral, and woody. The top note of Pink Pepper and Fig adds movement and vibrancy while the base note of Silky Musk adds texture. Jasmine Sambac, the key ingredient of this fragrance, is of the highest quality of floral extracts in perfumery - it is handpicked in India at only a select period of time to tap into its full vibrancy.

The Design
For the design of the bottle, Jason partnered with architect Andre Mellone. The bottle's simplicity of form is inspired by midcentury design, Jason's favorite period, along with his favorite modern artists such as Josef Albers and Ellsworth Kelly. Designed with an architectural approach, a signature gold cap and seamless thick glass base gives a luxurious weight and feel. To balance the masculine base, the fragrance is nude with a touch of blush, inspired by a 1950's pressed powder compact, which embodies femininity and sensuality. Mirroring the scent, the packaging, designed by Fabien Baron, is elegantly modern in the same hue.

Beauty Talk - Lily Aldridge
The supermodel and face of Jason Wu's first fragrance dishes on overtweezing, haircut disasters, and why she no longer uses instagram filters.

You're the face of Jason Wu's first fragrance. How did the collaboration come about?
"Jason and I have been friends for years, so when he called to tell me he was launching a fragrance and asked me to be the face, I was like 'Of course, are you kidding me?' Everything about it is beautiful, from the jasmine scent to the bottle to the packaging. I recently had it with me at my agency, and you know it's pretty good stuff when all the girls ask you to spray them." -- Lily Aldridge
