About Liz Claiborne
Liz Claiborne is a fashion house founded in 1976 by Liz Claiborne, her husband Art Ortenberg, and their business partners Leonard Boxer and Jerome Chazen. She was known for offering a mix and match clothing collection for the upper middle class woman. In 1986 she launched her first signature fragrance, Liz Claiborne for Women. The design house of Liz Claiborne includes the popular brands Candie's, Bora Bora, Curve, Mambo, Lucky (acquired in 1999), Mexx (2001), Juicy Couture (2003), and Kate Spade (2006). The fragrance license was acquired in 2008 by Elizabeth Arden's EA Fragrances Co. In September 2016 Revlon acquired the Elizabeth Arden collection. The fashion line, Liz Claiborne Inc. was acquired in 2011 by the JC Penney Company.
