About Tiffany & Company
Tiffany is an American luxury jewelry and specialty retailer located in New York City. Founded by Charles Lewis Tiffany and John B. Young in 1837 as a "stationery and fancy goods emporium", they operated as Tiffany, Young, and Ellis in Lower Manhattan. In 1853 Charles Tiffany took control of the company to emphasise on jewelry, and shortened the name to Tiffany & Company. From 1978 and 1984 Tiffany was owned by Avon Products Inc. Tiffany's iconic flagship store has stood on the corner of Fifth Avenue and 57th Street in Manhattan since 1940. The store is well known for their window displays, and has been the location of many films including Sweet Home Alabama starring Reese Witherspoon and Breakfast at Tiffany's starring Audrey Hepburn. The coveted "Tiffany Blue Box" was first debuted on the 1845 cover of the company's Blue Book catalog. (Pantone No. 1837, to represent the founding date.) Tiffany's debuted their first floral fragrance for women in 1987. (Source:
