Carven Vetiver
Carven Vetiver - eau de toilette for men
Vetiver by Carven - "In 1957, Carven launched the first signature eau de toilette in the history of perfumery, whose fresh notes magnify the House's reputation for light fragrances. It is said that Madame Carven created it as a tribute to her late husband Philippe Mallet." --carven.com

Masculine-Feminine Scents
Let's put it this way: Men's colognes want to rescue you from a burning building, while most women's scents want to talk about their feelings. And some women find it sexy to wear the strong but silent types themselves. The idea appeals to French jewelry designer Aurelie Bidermann... Her father is a fan of Carven Vetiver, and so is she, "He's been wearing it forever and ever," says Bidermann. "I always loved it, and I also wear it." She rotates through an additional trio of citrusy colognes: Hermes Eau d'Orange Verte, Acqua di Parma, and Bonpoint, a fragrance for children that is similar but considerably lighter than the other two. "I don't like girlie scents at all, and I don't like when they're floral," she says. "I love eau de cologne." Perfumer Sophia Grojsman explains, "Men's fragrances are often clean and fresh. And some women's fragrances are too heavy and sweet. For everyday use, those lighter, fresher smells can be more appealing."
